Do you hold my money?
No. STKVEL never touches your funds and holds no accounts or wallets. Your circle keeps paying each other the way it already does — bank transfer, cash or app — and STKVEL records it so everyone sees the same ledger.
How do payouts work?
Your circle agrees a payout order up front. Each round every member contributes the same amount — say $200.00 from five members — and the whole pool of $1,000.00 goes to whoever's turn it is. STKVEL marks that member paid out, then moves the turn to the next person until everyone has had a round.
Is it in rands or dollars?
Both. Australian members see Australian dollars (A$) and South African members see rand (R) — prices and examples switch automatically based on your location, and your circle picks the currency it saves in.
Can I use it for my existing stokvel?
Yes, and most people do. Create the circle, add your members, set the contribution and the payout order you already follow, then mark off the rounds that have already been paid out. Nothing about how your group runs has to change.
Which plan do I need?
Only the organiser pays; members are always free. Start free with one circle and five members. Growth ($9.00/mo) covers three circles and nine members, and Maximiser ($15.00/mo) is unlimited circles with twelve members. Upgrade or cancel any time.
